Being one of the premier hotel brands across the world, a guest usually expects the entire experience of staying with them to be extremely pleasant and memorable. The Oberoi is no different on this front. At the time of writing this review, this was the number 1 ranked hotel in Bangalore on TripAdvisor. And our experience during the stay corroborates this fact completely! A great stay, albeit for just one night, left us wanting more. Read on to know more about our experience!
Location
Located in the heart of Bangalore city, right on Mahatma Gandhi road, this wonderful 5 star property is walking distance from the Trinity Circle. Those of you who have been to Bangalore will know that MG road and Brigade Road are some of the most popular areas with young/hip/modern crowd of Bangalore and is prime real estate!
Locating or reaching the hotel is quite easy as most cab operators are well aware of the location and the hotel itself.
About the Property
As soon as you reach the property the first thing that you’ll notice that while it is bang on the main road (and a busy one at that), you’re quite cut off the noise associated with the main roads. As expected the hotel has ample parking space and valet parking.
All this with the feeling that you’re surrounded by nature, because of the sheer number of trees and plants that you’re surrounded by! It gives out a very welcoming feel!
Check-in:
Right from the first person we come across, we were welcomed with a smile and warm hospitality. Another thing that stood out was the way they handled the check-in process. Once the reservation was confirmed, we were never made to wait at the lobby. We were directly escorted to our room and all the necessary formalities, such as ID verification, were completed in a completely relaxed environment.
Room
We had made our booking directly on The Oberoi Hotels Website and chose the “Room category assigned on arrival” option at the time of booking, which is the same price as their “Deluxe Rooms”. On arrival, they moved us to a Premier Room, which is a double upgrade.
These comfortable rooms, which are spread over 440 sqft, include a king size bed, a classic wooden writing desk, a walk in wardrobe and plush armchairs. A garden facing private balcony was a perfect way to enjoy the wonder weather Bangalore had to offer! Another thing that stood out was the Oberoi E’nhance, an iPad oriented technology which allows navigation and customization of a host of in room amenities and features. You get to control almost the entire room with an iPad.
When it comes to conform, you expect nothing less than the best from a 5 star rated hotel and The Obero sure didn’t disappoint us in any way! The beds and pillows used were extremely comfortable and after travelling for most of the day, we found these to be perfect to crash into!
Bathroom
Cleanliness is an aspect that The Oberoi’s staff is very particular about and this shows in the bathroom as well. It was sparking clean and had all the necessary amenities that made our stay wonderful. Right from the usual kits and towels, everything was fresh and clean! The Bathroom has designated wet and dry areas with hot water being available round the clock.
The specialty of the “Premier” room was that it came with a steam facility in the bathroom which is a wonderful way to wind down after a long day!
Food
We had the opportunity to try out just their breakfast as we were a little short on time. The buffet breakfast was one of the best that we’ve tried with a lavish spread and wide range of options to choose from! We totally loved the French Toast an it sure was a great way to start the day!
Stay on the look out for our next review for The Oberoi for more detailed information on their food. Though, if their breakfast is any indication, we can assume that the rest of the meals would be pretty amazing as well!

We called in from the room informing that we’d be checking out soon and they had the bill ready by the time we were in the lobby. In case you have luggage, they’d be happy to send up the bell boy. We didn’t have much luggage and hence directly proceeded to the lobby. This entire process hardly took a couple of minutes and we were on our way to the next destination soon!
Customer Service:
Exceptional. Everyone looked eager to help throughout our stay. Loved that fact that I had asked for a cake to be presented to my wife on arrival in the room and they took the liberty to make amazing arrangements on the bed as well as the bath tub giving the room the perfect look!
Final Verdict & Ratings
The Oberoi is undoubtedly one of the best hotels to stay in, in Bangalore. Situated in an excellent location, with outstanding cleanliness, warm hospitality and superior service, you would surely feel like extending your stay here! We’ll definitely stay here again!
